My CPU seems very warm...

My CPu seems to have a very warm Load temp... Currently at 77-80c useing Prime95

Its a 3770k @ 4.5Ghz with 1.25V

It used to Load at 69C, i don't see where this extra 10C has come from :/

are there are settings in the BIOS i can change to reduce the temps? Any less Vcore and it will BSOD
 
The temps are fine anyway, wouldn't worry too much about it. 10 degree difference is quite a lot if you use AC, perhaps give your case a bit of a shake to get rid of any air bubbles that might have gotten trapped in your CPU block or something?
 
Has anything changed with the case ?? Does it have fans and are they all clean and spinning up right including the CPU cooler ??

Might just need a good clean out of dust ??
 
Nothings changed in the case, Fans all have dust filters so no dust problems (also can o air the bugger each week).

Cant find any air bubbles and the block looks clean :/

Do i need HT on for gaming? I could simply turn that off, would drop my temps a bit i suppose
 
My 3770k at the same frequency and around 1.22V load gets to around the same max temperature using P95 small FFTs, though mine is cooled with a 212 Evo, not water. I wouldn't be worried about those temperatures, whilst gaming mine only gets to about 60C or so playing BF3 (I have HT on).

My temps are actually slightly lower than my 3570k at the same speed (though that needed 1.26v for 4.5) so I don't think turning HT off will make much difference to temps (though yours are fine anyway so no need to).

It is a bit strange that your temps have jumped up though, maybe you knocked the CPU block? If so, you could try redoing the thermal paste. Not really sure what else other than checking the radiators aren't clogged with dust and making sure there aren't bubbles in the coolant.

This is with my 2600K with HT enabled, 1.38v 24/7 folding at the moment. That is with a medium fan speed atm, the max temps are from lower speed earlier. As I said, check around, but if you are still finding the temps uncomfortable, perhaps try a reseat of your CPU block.

Same.. Not to mention my dust filters have a nice thick layer of dust covering them, and I can't get at them without removing my radiator (and pretty much everything else to get at the radiator). Think I might remove them and just clean my case out every so often instead..
