oh, thats nice.

How about sticking it on a tripod. taking a shot just like that and then another with it in focus.

Then you could play in PS and get the blurred tree and lights with a in focus background. sound good??

If you make a card filter with a christmas tree shape cut out it would make the light blobs christmas tree shapes

Might look quite cool.

Just set the camera to manual focus and and shot it out of focus.

It helps to use a large aperture too... Ive done a few of these recently. Took these with my Nikon 50mm F1.8D
