so i've played for a few mins in 3D

I like how they've made the depth a small amount.
This means there is no crosstalk in usual high contrast situations.

It also adds a nice immersion to the entire game

I think it looks great IMO, some of the lighting effects are very cool.
It all runs smooth on spec in sig, 45-50fps so far.

Waiting to have a 'wow' moment but so far nice enough:)

I mean, 3D takes the FPS and halfs it right, to give half the frames to 1 eye and half to the other? So 45-50FPS would be 90-100 without 3D on, on a 470.

Just seemed a little high.

Pretty sure Crytek are using some other method to produce the 3d, so it only has minimal impact on your fps. Cant remember where i read that mind :\

plus its not always as simple as 'halving the frame rate'

whatever they are using it is smooth as though.

I'm sure I read you get half the frames in 1 eye and half in the other, which is what makes the image 3D. So in real world, if you had 120FPS in 3D it would be 60FPS per eye.

But yeah, that's with most games, Crysis 2 and Avatar are exceptions I think.
