Ive had my Dell 1720 for around 2 years now , not sure if to replace , advice please , spec below , i dont play games , or is it worth keeping

Well only you can be the judge really. Is it starting to feel too slow for what you use it for? That's a very respectable spec really, certainly no slower than what's available at the moment.

If it is starting to feel slow, it would probably benefit from a clean install of Vista. I find that usually helps remind me of how quick the PC/notebook I have actually is.

I agree.

I would say its worth keeping. Why are you considering replacing it?
 
Nothing immensely noticeable, I'd imagine. CPU intensive tasks would benefit but I can't see day-to-day usage being any different.
