Hi there. I'm having trouble with my desktop pc. It is connected to my router via these and It has been for a good 2 years now. It's been faultless until a week ago. I can't seem to get more than 2mb/s from speedtest.net but if I do it via my laptop or phone, i get my full internet speed... Here is my desktop speed http://www.speedtest.net/result/2789887261.png

here is my phone speed

Could this be a fault with my powerline network adapters? Could it be my router settings?
Thanks
Marc

Thanks I will install the software now. I can't connect my pc directly to the router. It would require drilling holes in walls to run a cable from my pc to the router or to add a phone line into my room. I also have a wireless adapter for my pc. If i can find it, I can try that as well.

I really would try to move the PC to the router first to test a direct connection, or the adapters on another PC before contacting TP-Link, assuming it's still in warranty.

It would be hard to move my pc down into a small hallway next to the bathroom and front door :) But I have ordered a 20m long ethernet cable. It should reach all the way down the stairs. Hopefully this will cure the problem. If so I might get the drill out and make it a permanent solution

Hook the homepulgs up to your laptop, turn off/disable wifi?

Thanks! just tried that and I'm getting slow speeds. It's defiantly the powerline adapters. My long ethernet cable also came this morning. Plugged my pc directly to my router and I got full speed.
It's defiantly the power lines. We got a new electrical box put in our house for the new kitchen. I think that could be interfering with it :(

I might have to go wireless again :( If the router had enough wifi to reach my room, i wouldn't mind it

Okay excellent news. I took my laptop and powerline adapter out to the garage (uses separate fusebox) and boom, full internet speed. So i guess their is some power hungry device inside my house somewhere....
