New 3.4Ghz Image In Post Further Down - Admitably with high temps.
Just tried overclocking my E5200 combined with the Zotac 9300 ITX Ver 4 board, despite not been able to test my maximum FSB and up the voltage beyond stock.
I have made a few posts on here about this but no seems to be able to help. I have tried setting C1E to off and auto while setting the CPU Multiplier to the lowest value but it never works. The setting chip always working in Cool and quiet\Speedstep type mode. I probably couldnt increase the voltage anyway as my temps are at maximum anyway I believe.
Cant call this 100% stable but the most I ever stress my PC is playing LFD or Counterstrike source and the temps never reach much beyond 68c
This is after a couple of hours prime blend and a couple of Intel Burn Tests.
In the bios I have upped the Northbridge to 1.15v and upped the Vcore by 0.2 although this is not displayed by CPUZ which always maxs out at 1.25.
I have also changed the memory from 5,5,5,15 to 5,5,5,18 and early tests a 3.0Ghz failed.
My max temp of 79c was achieved with Intel Burn test and idle temp is around 48-53c. The max temp using Prime is 72c. The onboard GPU reachs 69c.
The CPU has Akasa Thermal compound and been lapped. The cooler is a cheap stock looking cooler which is less than 70mm so it fits my small ITX case.
Reason for overclock is to improve CS:Source FPS and hopefully make better use of my budget Zotac GT 240 GPU when is arives.
New to Intel so any advice would be great.
