Hey my e6300 @ stock with Stock cooler is at 49' idle and 59' when running 3dmark05 are these normal as they seem a little hot.

If it is to hot what temps should i be getting. :)

My idle is 31C and load is 55C

Antec Solo
C2D 6320 , 430fsb running at 3ghz
Ninja Sycth rev B CPU Cooler
Antec Tri-Speed Case Fan on low

What's the load temp with Orthos or TAT?

3dmark05 isn't known for its CPU stressing capabilities, it's more of a graphics card stress test.

Core2's don't start to throttle until 85c, not that I'd recommend running it that hot 24/7!!

I would say both temperatures were at least 5-10 degrees too high. First step would be to re-seat the heatsink/fan. Often you think its clicked into place, but it is not sitting perfectly.

Do not change the orientation of the fan though otherwise you may need to renew the thermal paste.

Come on, the temps are on the high side but nothing unreasonable!!! As long as you dont break 65C then there isnt anything to worry about. These chips are designed to run for 10 years, long past when anyone will be using them including if they were sent to africa

just for your info mine has reached just over 70 whilst stressing with TAT im not worried... much ;)
