I would normally say that 65c is fine however when I looked at the max temperature from the intel specs it said 61.4c so you might want to get that temperature down.
Heres the link for the specification if you want to have a look: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=27249
Not sure if you could get the voltage down but always worth a try.
thats 61.4 without oc tho... it has gone up nearly a whole Ghz and also the thermal paste im using is some crap from a graphics card cooler 'twas bundled in... getting some in soon although see how it goes then .... maybe getting a corsair h50/70
The E6400 is not a 'POS CPU' its a f'ing legend of a chip with 50% overclocks not hard to come by. Now as you might have guess I had one of these bad boys paired with a Gigabyte P965 DS3 and a Arctic Freezer pro 7 and managed to get pretty much the same overclock as you have. I was able to push it to 3.3 Ghz if I really upped the ante with the voltage but it was hard to keep it stable under any sort of load conditions.
If your using crap TIM then I would suggest getting something decent straight away like Artic Silver 5 as that will probably bring your temps down a few degrees!
