My E6750 will not hold overclock anymore?

Hi,

My E6750 processor will not hold my overclock anymore which was 3ghz. Alway goes back to stock.

Motherboard is a Gigabyte: GA-965P-S3

Computer fails to boot everytime I try to do it, even play with volts and memory tweaks etc to see if that's the prob but no luck.

Could it be the battery on my motherboard not keeping its memory / may replace with new one?

It definitely sounds like the motherboard to me, a new one might be in order, if you can try the processor in another S775 motherboard and see if it still clocks
