My E6850 Temps

My E6850 is running at 45-50c idle and 60-65c under load.

these seem a bit high (well higher than im used to). cpu has only been installed a couple of weeks. been around this temp since install.

Specs:
CM Stacker 832
E6850 @ 3375Mhz / Stock volts / Sythe Ninja
Asus Stiker Extreme
750w Toughpower
4 x 1GB Crucial Ballistix (800mhz)
8800GT Sli @ stock
Ive got good air flow, 2 x 120mm front, 1 x 120mm exhuast + the one one the side of the sythe ninja. 1 x top 120mm.

This is all suprisingly quite

Dunno about 6850 but i have a 6750 @ 3.7ghz on an evga 680i m/b. Idle is 26-27C (core temp 0.96.1) and orthos load (small fft) rises to 52-54C. I have an antec nine hundred case with two 110mm fans on front, one on side, one on back, the big 200mm fan on top. Also have Thermalright ultra extreme cooler for the processor with two 110mm fans on it.

Graphics card is an 8800gtx which chucks loads of heat into the case.
Voltage is 1.41 in bios which after doing the voltage mod to this board now shows as 1.4 in cpuz.

Your ninja should be ok for cooling..... whats your ambient temp like? quite cool in my room - prob 17-19C. Also i lapped my ecu and heatsink, maybe try this?

I got a E6850 an its running at stock speed and temp is 33-40c idle an 45-55c under load.

system is asus p5k premium, e6850 cpu, 4gb ocz 6400 gold, 9600gt extreme and 750w tornado2 psu

Thx conoflex, mine seem to be around 5-10c hotter. It was a real pain seating my heatsink on my mobo, but looks like i should reseat it.

what paste are you using
i would reseat heatsink and make sure you dont put to much/little paste on.

my core temps
idle:30
load:57(after 6 hours of prime95)

i have recently applyed arctic silver 5 paste which is ment to take upto 200 hours to sink in, so temps mite drop 1 or 2 degrees but not sure (been about 40 hours)

while you have heatsink of just check that surfice are flat
