My EK blocks nickel flaking off.

Well, I finally got round to taking removing my loop so I can RMA my GPU, and I've got pictures of my nickel flaking on my EK 6870 blocks ;

Looks like I'm RMA'ing the blocks too.

Oooo starting to see these more often now in UK as well then.
I am dreading it because in couple of weeks I am going to remove my CPU block to have a look as well.

I haven't checked my CPU block yet.
I'm still using one of my GPU blocks till I get my replace 6870, so I can put that in, and remove my other 6870 and RMA both blocks together.

It's just, people doubted me when I said its happened to me.

Yep, lot of people in this forum including some dons were(are?) very sceptical when this issue first reported in the forums.
Are you going to ask for the new "EN" version block as a replacement?

Well it's not only EK with this problem,here's my 3 month old Koolance 370 (Got my money back).

EN - which uses electroless plating process.

The E-tailer refuses to let me have a refund, despite the fact these blocks simply aren't fit for purpose, which has peeved me a little.

Bad news, looks like the more recently made blocks seem to have the issues. No FC-6870 EN yet either

Hope the new EN process sorts these issues or i'll be getting aquacomputer blocks next upgrade.

If I can't get a refund, I want those 6870 blocks from AC.

If you can only get an exchange for another ek block through the rma it maybe wise to get copper blocks. The more i look at the full cover AC blocks the more i like them, especially in nickel lol

I'm kinda put off by EK recently, Like my CPU block is a EK, I wish i bought a Heatkiller now.

Which is why you should have bought them from OcUK

TBH, I doubt OcUK would've given you a refund

However, IIRC, you are only entitled to a repair/replacement
