Congrats, nice clocking cpu there tbh. Once you sort the cooling out I would be very tempted to push it further as you hve headroom on the vcore tbh.

Yup, I'm looking to get the tuniq tower maybe and replace my case fans with more powerful ones. With real world apps, my load temps rarely go beyond 60C.

Nice overclock, Is it very fast at that speed Ie can you see a big diffrance than it being at stock.

I can see the difference only in cpu intensive software. Winrar and quickpar are also much faster for me due to the increase memory bandwidth.

I took it up to 1.4625 trying to get stable but now I'm back to 1.45 as that didn't work.

What's the vdroop like? What did you set in the BIOS and what do you get in windows under load/idle?

On my ASUS P5B Deluxe, I needed to set 1.5125V in the BIOS as the vdroop took it to around 1.45V actual.

I did the pencil mod and I can now set 1.45V in the BIOS and 1.43 actual steady.

I'll give it a go.

Edit: Well that seems to have made it stable at 3400 at least for the first 10 minutes in Orthos. CPU-Z is now doing that 1.213v thing but PC Probe II shows the Vcore as 1.47v. Temps now are 65c/65c in Core Temp (63c/62c in TAT). Do you think those kind of temperatures are OK?

Yes, they are fine (a little hot), but try not to make it go any higher.

Which motherboard do you have?

What time did you get on Blend test in the end smsmasters? i had plenty of problems getting it past 4 hours but i used this program called mem set and change some ram settings to get it past 10 hours.. atm i cant remember what setting but if u ask i will find out :)

Also, try to set your RAM to 1.9V and see if it's stable.
