Hey guys,

Here are my final specs. still have a problem with the motherboard.

CPU: Q6600

Graphic card: x2 8800 gtx. XFX GeForce 8800 GTX Extreme 768MB GDDR3

Ram: 8gb ddr2. G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-8000C5 (2x2GB

HDD: 3tb of samsung 1tb hdd and 250g samsung hdd

Soundcard: X-FI gamer

Watercooling kit: Thermaltake Big Water 760i Bay Mounted Watercooling Kit

Case: Lian Li PC-A71B Aluminium Tower

PSU: Zalman 1000w

I want to overclock the cpu and graphic cards to match the gts speeds.
My problem is, with 2 graphic cards. what motherboard will let me use the x-fi gamer sound card?

Any recommendations would be good for the other parts too.

Thanks

take it you're running vista 64bit, otherwise the 8gb of memory wont be much use, and its still a bit overkill, and with the q6600 might as well go with pc6400.

I will warn you that the the big water kit isnt exactly a good watercooling kit from reviews and opinions. Seems high end air cooling is just as good....and cheaper.

Yeah it will be vista. so maybe I should go with the 6400 ram instead?
Anyone recommend a motherboard that could fix my problem with the 2 graphic cards and soundcard?

Thanks guys

Why 2xGTX's ??? would you not be better with a 9800gx2, with the potential to add another one later, or even 2x8800GTS 512. You'd use a lot less power with the GTS. I think I'd stick with the faster memory - I'm using OCZ Reaper PC 8000 and running a q6600 at 3.6ghz. I've just bought the Zalman 1KW and so far so good. It's an excellent PSU with all the connections you'd need and more :) It's also very quiet.

i'd go with spb and look at the 9800x2.

would have thought pc6400 would be fine, running at a multi of 9, at memory default of 400 will get you 3.6.

2 gtx's because if its overclocked its a lot better then 2 gts's from what Ive read and also a lot better for AA for games like crysis. 9800gx2 more expensive and ppl seem to say its not as good. Im gonna change graphic cards probably by next year for the new nvidia.

Yeah, might go with the faster memory.

Thanks guys.

How about my motherboard and soundcard issue, really need help with that.
