Hi

After much delibration and thinking.. i have finally got my final spec.. just wanted to know if it will be ok and everything will fit fine.. comment back if you will please..

Asus P5N-E SLI nForce 650

Tagan TG530-U15 530W ATX2.01 Easycon SLi Compliant Modular Silent PSU

Note - do i need 640MB GTS if playing at 1280 x 1024 ?

To me thats an excellent setup, great. I would go for a 640MB they are only another £40. I have a 320MB and it suffers in some highly textured games because of the lack of video memory. I game at the same res btw.
 
ok cool also what about the motherboard and will this setup overclock well..

note - i have c2d e6300
 
The P5N is a good overclocker, as are other boards there isn't much in it really between the different brands like Gigabyte and Abit. I would go for the Gigabyte DS3P myself but thats just personal pref.
 
yeah quite a few people have said that to me.. could you link me to it please ?... and how come lots have recommended it more that the Asus ?
 
ok cool thanks... is this motherboard ok now.. is it stable from it's problems and it will overclock well yeah ?

edit - also will all my stuff like hard drive and dvd drive work.. the hard drive cable is small if that helps...

Yep, as you can tell from other spec threads its the motherboard most are going for. As mentioned these compatibility issues have been addressed and it still remains a great overclocker. My brother has this board and is sitting at 3.4GHz no problems at all. The FSB just nudges up without any worries. Its a strong contender, like I said though all the major brands have boards that are similar in performance there isn't a great deal in it. :)

i really don't know about my hard drive.. it just has a small.. thin cable it is not a IDE i don't think.. they are wide arn't they.. :cool:
 
Does it use a thick ribbon cable (usually grey):

it is a sata cable for sure.. will my hard drive work on the DS3P ?

Note - will the Noctua also work on the DS3P ?
