That is partly my reason for not really going at the paint with the intention of getting rid of every single swirl.
The hard pad is still in the wrapper. Tbh I should have used it on the roof and the bonnet but I was quite careful due being a complete newbie to the process.
If I ever did the Micra again I would just use soft pads and a fine polish, but if I had a paint depth gauge I could really tackle the swirls hard.

I personally feel a 90% swirl reduction and 99% faded paint reduction is worth not using the hard pads for someone who lacks some confidence :).
