My first big bike!

I just want to try to run my insurance through his provider to be honest, gpz500, with a years no claims turns out to be more for me (24) on third party only... So either I live in a complete bog where everything gets nicked, or I really want to know his provider!

You guys are right, I did run another quote while in office today and it's £199 TPFT or £300 fully comp. I am just going to go TPFT. Thats with MCE.

There was a thread a short while back where MCE turned out very cheap, but someone said they weren't convinved by their general attitude, apparently they were a bit hard to deal with and gave a bad impression. I'm going to look at them for renewal next year - about 20% cheaper than most other insurers, hope they have their act together by then.

I have been with them for a year on my moped. They are always happy to help when you phone up (moving address etc) I found them quite a lot cheaper than the other companys!

Yep that was my thread. It turned out at something like £450 FC on a 2000 CBR600F Sport and a new licence at 17 years old, with 1 NCB.

sorry but you mega failed. you should have convinced your parents to let you get a zxr 400 they are the fastest 400s ever i dare say the would probably beat a bandit 600 to about 120 or if you spent a few pennies you can get them to 80 bhp and 150 mph. go buy a zxr 400 sell your bandit to spend on mods and get the folowing.

Ram air induction (with faring)
a good sports can ( get a purple scorpion and be frowned on since they dont look good)
dont oversize your carbs just jet them correctly.

this will cost you about £300 on a zxr 400 if you shop around. and you will be doing 140 mph +

god sake i just looked zxr 400s are 15 bhp more standard than the bandit 400. oh lol.

lolol

bandit: 172.0 km/h (106.9 mph)

zxr : 207.0 km/h (128.6 mph) restricted because of them being imports, but if you change a few wires around its 138 standard.

mind you, you probably haven't experienced true power of a fast 600 or a 1000 so it wont bother you that much.Although i can see your future thread of "my 400 is too slow im looking for a upgrade to a 600" and judging by this thread you will go buy a stupid 600 bandit with a purple scorpion and then 2 months later will wonder why nearly every other 600 is about 20x faster.

looks good, unless it's been lowered don't jack it up... that will shift weight forward, make the front feel like it's gonna tuck in corners and lose you traction on exits.

weight distribution on a bike is crucial to how it handles, even the smallest adjustment (just with preload) totally changes the bike.

if it has been lowered then restoring it to OEM settings will make the bike handle how it's meant to... lowered bikes will run wide on corners and not hold lines very well

nice zx10 true about 114 in first gear due to mad Japanese skillz ?

I could pull 97 in first on my Gsxr1000 K6 ... But that was bouncing it off the limiter :P

Im not keen on 400's / Hassle for spares (on some models) not really that fast .. Can be more to insure as most are imports and tbh there all bloody old now .

My money would have went on a 600 of the usual suspects (hornet/sv/bandit/fazer etc etc )

But grats on new bike .

Persil

lets be honest if anyone who is semi educated is going to get a 600 they will go straight for the r6 2006+ model, there insane 165 mph without problems aren't they like 3.2 seconds 0-60 basically gonna beat a reasonable amount of bigger 1000s

radox he's 17 and will be on a 33bhp licence :)

i suggest you read other threads :) ive stated what im riding before but so many people raged about me being on the road and how my bike isnt restricted its not worth the effort of mentioning again.

small clue..

its faster than anything currently mentioned in this thread i belive.

if you come across one 17 year old on a bike thats restricted i would be very very very surprised.

i also choose not to ride on the road very often, Mallory only round the corner with my ACU license i can go wensday afternoons on whatever i choose legally.
