I would have assumed he was older than 17.
I would have read the op.

No need to get your knickers in a twist.
£160 does sound awfully odd at 17.
Erm, hold on, didn't you say with 1 year no claims?
How is that possible given that you're 17? Is it in someone else's name?
1 year on moped from 16?
There was a thread a short while back where MCE turned out very cheap, but someone said they weren't convinved by their general attitude, apparently they were a bit hard to deal with and gave a bad impression. I'm going to look at them for renewal next year - about 20% cheaper than most other insurers, hope they have their act together by then.
looks good, unless it's been lowered don't jack it up... that will shift weight forward, make the front feel like it's gonna tuck in corners and lose you traction on exits.
weight distribution on a bike is crucial to how it handles, even the smallest adjustment (just with preload) totally changes the bike.
if it has been lowered then restoring it to OEM settings will make the bike handle how it's meant to... lowered bikes will run wide on corners and not hold lines very well
I could pull 97 in first on my Gsxr1000 K6 ... But that was bouncing it off the limiter![]()
Im not keen on 400's / Hassle for spares (on some models) not really that fast .. Can be more to insure as most are imports and tbh there all bloody old now .
My money would have went on a 600 of the usual suspects (hornet/sv/bandit/fazer etc etc )
But grats on new bike .
Persil
radox he's 17 and will be on a 33bhp licence![]()
