Ok, i was invited to shoot pictures for a local collectables shop of David Prowse aka Darth vadar, as i've never really done people/portraits very well in the past and still getting to grips with the 35mm 1.8 i was kindly loaned by my uncle it'd be nice to have some proper feedback, i've picked my absolute best 3 that i obviously love so comment away!!

#1 - looks a tad soft around their faces, but it could be the monitor at work. Mixture of light is a tad annoying but nothing serious. Overall, I like it, it says its a nice friendly place :)

#2 Looks like you focused on him and then he nodded at you so his head is now out of focus. Can't see the exif to see what aperture you were shooting, but maybe wise to step it down a little more for moving subjects.

#3 Be aware of your backgrounds, he appears to have a light post or something coming out of his back!

all of the pictures were shot at F1.8 - 2 can't remember shutter speeds tbh and iso was between 100-250

the first picture was the best i could do with no flash indoors with horrendously bad strip lighting, very little natural light managed to get in that far :(

the 2nd one is my personal favourite, i was so happy when i stopped to have a look, as for the lighting, it was in the shops doorway, so daylight behind and horrid strip lighting behind me, will have a poke about in LR see if i can't brighten his face a little

3rd one, ya know i've only just noticed that lamppost just now lol, that clone trooper gave me issues, he was only about 5ft 1-2 had to stoop so far to get a decent angle on him lol

but thanks for the comments guys,
think the portrait and people bug has bitten, next steps are hopefully a SB700 flash so i can play with bouncing light etc etc and a 50mm 1.8 :p

The first works OK, the second too I'm afraid are just snapshots, the background is too distracting, you'd have been better with a 50 or 85 to blur them more. The third needs work on composition too - it's dead centre which is almost always a mistake.

Here comes theheyes with his exposure and colour corrections, whether you like them or not :p Maybe I should try to find a white balance anonymous group... Quite drunk at the moment I don't really care.

Missed focus on the middle one but the other two are basically fine. Glad to see you weren't discouraged by the comments in your other thread. :)
