Hi guys, im looking at getting a new pc and thought building my own might be cheaper :D.

I want it for editing photos and videos (as a hobby, not on a professional level. Basically needs to be able to run Photoshop well), watching movies (connected to my HD monitor), listening to music and all the other everyday stuff (word processor, internet, email etc).

This is what im thinking, just looking around atm:
AMD Athlon II X4 630 2.8GHz Socket AM3

MSI 770-C45 AMD 770 AM3

ASUS HD 4670 512MB GDDR3 VGA DVI HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card

Coolermaster Elite 330 Black Case With CM eXtreme Power 460W PSU

Sony AD-7240S 24x DVD±RW DL SATA

OCZ Gold 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9

1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3

Belkin F5D7000UK 54Mbps Wireless Desktop PCI Network Adapter

Any advice on things i could change, either to improve performance for a similar price (im on the edge of my budget) or reduce the price would really help :)

Be nice, im new at this;)

Yeah you cant link to competitors, its in the FAQ, prob best to have a read so you dont have any more slip ups.
For your needs you could manage with onboard gfx, the 785G chipset is very capable

Edit: From here, little bit more but youre getting much better PSU and a better case too, these can be used in your next build saving you money down the line, the cpu is one down but will make very little difference and the RAM is faster. You could get cheaper case and psu if you wanted to but imo its best to invest in these things, last thing you want is your psu to go pop and take everything else with it
If you're happy with overclocking or happy to learn you could add an aftermarket CPU cooler and get more performance out of your CPU for free, its quite easy really

Cheers, you're probably right about getting a better PSU and sticking with integrated graphics. Ive never overclocked before, i only have a laptop atm and it gets hot enough without any help  . Its definitely something i would be willing to try tho.

Ive removed the links and will now thoroughly read the FAQ ;) I was looking for "forum rules", should probably have read that first though.

P.S. coincidence, i live in knaresborough :D
