Today everything arrived for my first proper build, here are the specs:
Silverstone SG03 Case
Quad Core Q8200 2.33Ghz
Asus P5Q-AM
OCZ 4GB DDR2 Gold
Gainward GTX 260
Corsair TX750W PSU
Samsung F3 1TB
Im only on my lunch and have just prepared everything until after work.
I've only gone for the Q8200 and P5Q-AM because I'm expecting to upgrade within a year to atleast an i5, including SLI 260's, but for now I should be happy with this.
I think overclocking will not be possible without extra cooling which i will consider at a later date also. But one thing i have been thinking about is which way to install the PSU.
Would it be best to have the PSU extracting air from within the PC to get rid of heat or have the PSU intaking air from outside?
Im guessing if the PSU extracts from inside, the PSU will get fairly hot. Obviously the CPU, mobo etc are more important, but will i have sufficient cooling anyway if i do face the PSU outwards and just have the GPU fans, Stock CPU Cooler and 120mm intake fan extracting the heat out of the back?
I'm only going to use the intake fan at the front of the case for now but am going to buy another 120mm fan ASAP or invest in the Corsair H50.
Im probably going to test various ways of cooling but suggestions and experiences would be cool. Thanks
