hey everyone,
following the advice from everyone on here, i've recently built what you see below. i've been using it for fsx mainly, and i'm very impressed!
Spec:
CPU: i5 750
MOBO: Gigabyte P55 UD3r
CASE: Coolermaster RC-1000
GPU: Gainward GTX260
PSU: Antec Signature Premium 650w
RAM: G-Skill Ripjaw 1600mhz (2x2gb)
CPU COOLER: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2
HDD: Samsung F3 1tb
Wifi: Edimax 300mbps
This is linked to an Asus 22" 1080p monitor through hdmi connection.
A few questions:
I've tried tidying as much as possible, however there are several connections that require extenders in order to run the wire behind the mobo. they are the SPDIF audio cable from the gpu and a power connector to the mobo (the one seen going over the cooler). There isn't any way i'd be able to extend it behind and then over the mobo as the slot at the top isn't big enough. does this affect the cooling ability of the cooler as it has the cable's weight resting on it and im worried that the contact force could deviate over the cpu.
I haven't overclocked yet as i don't have a clue (im still reading up on it), but would a 3.6-3.8ghz o/c still give reasonable temps with this cheap cooler? i ran out of money when ordering so i didnt get a noctua
