I can already start, go to second, go to 3, go back to 2, u turn, go back to 3, drive along, go to 2, slip in to r, go backwards, park up. I'm quite comfortable with all that.

So anyway, how many lessons did ya'll have?

I had 30 hours (20 lessons) and passed on my first with 3 minors which I was quite happy about.

It's only now that I've got my license I can do stupid things in the right situations like left foot breaking and changing 1st to 5th, it can't be healthy but it's funny. :p

About 40 x 1 hour sessions with instructor & no other practice. Passed first time with ~5 minors. Just coming upto 6 years driving with no claims/accidents.

That's a rover isn't it? In which case it doesn't matter, it'll get HGF. :p (couldn't resist it).

I had about 6 months of lessons, about 2 hours every fortnight, sometimes every week. Passed first time, with a fair number of minors, but it was a really strict tester (Which I actually think is a good thing, really showed me what I was doing wrong, if only slightly).

Oh, and I only had the instructor based lessons, no other time in a car.

I had my first lesson last saturday... went well!! although its annoying all the stuff like push and pull steering. find it easier to do it my way but i guess there ways best :D ^^ got another 2 hours saturday then the week after i hope to do like 6 hours a week!

Just come back.

He drove me to a hill, Went over the controls, proper seating position etc Then we swapped seats, played around with the clutch sticking it in the gears then weplayed with the clutch / accelerator, holding the car on the hill then moving back and forth.

Then we went down the hill, turned on a main road, went pass a road about, drove passed loads of parked cars, over took another learner driver and the came home.

So I was driving for about 40 minutes of my hr lesson.

Does that sound the norm for a first lesson? I was going in to 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/2nd gear a lot and never went faster than 35mph.
