So, How bad would you say I did...

I drove on the industrial estate fine, I drove on the main road with other cars fine. I stalled the car at the traffic lights, And parked up fine every time.

This was my first lesson, Not too much traffic on the roads to be honest.

I know from what I've described It's probably hard to say how I did, but how were you on your first driving lesson?

I was absolutely terrified. Seriously.

1 stall, and not hitting the pavement while parking up must be a good sign.

It's just right now, I honestly feel like I'm not going to beable to pick it up. Clutch control is beyond me, Going round a corner, While going into second gear, and indicating and accelerating.... HOW.

Anyways, Moan over. Someone tell me they totally messed up their first lesson, So i can feel better.

This thread can be expanded to find out how people did on their first driving lessons, Aswell as letting me have a ramble, So Dons, Give it a chance :p

Cheers for the good luck comment guys. And I never thought of putting this in the Motors section, I guess it kinda belongs here :D

I guess I'm just the kind of guy who wants to beable to sit in a car and drive.

I've been the same with everything, I remember when I first picked up a C++ book, I wanted to jump to the back pages.

I just can't wait till I stop feeling so panicky. :)

Sounds good so far. Get out on L plates in your rents cars as much as you can!!! Nothing makes up for time spent on the road.

Thats a very good idea, Only it would be my brothers car. And I'm scared of it. :p

he's just had a 1.6 engine put into his little Corsa. Maybe a bit too much power for an L plated car :D

As qualified drivers it's great fun to reminisce about how awful we were when we started out. Passing your test is only the beginning - wait until you drive in central London at rush hour for the first time.

It all came flooding back to me when I tried to learn to fly an aeroplane. I said to my instructor, "you seriously expect me to land the plane, keep a lookout, use the radio, listen to you shouting at me, move the flaps, work the rudder, use the throttle, watch the speed, trim, maintain separation and monitor altitude all at the same time? That's impossible!".

What will happen is that (just like the flying and most other skills in life) basic things (changing gear, steering, etc) will start to become second nature. That gives you the spare brain capacity to worry about what other people are doing, navigate, change CDs, talk on the phone, etc :p.

Keep at it and have fun :).

Dude, You can fly? That's awesome! :D

But yeah, I just need to stick with it, It'll come. :)
