My first foray into watercooling.

I most definitely agree. I assume that is rust?

To be honest if it means waiting and saving a while longer I would rather get quality components that are going to last.

My apologies, they look different to the ones I got, just judged from the picture in the item description they were the same - which they aren't. The fittings I got were a dark nickel. Those look like they have either been stored poorly or the plating is of a poor finish.

The value fittings I got had a really course thread on them, made getting a bite on the thread really easy which is why I suggested them.

In which case, I would suggest going for the EK fittings

Great, not keen on the case but I have no doubt there are plenty others to choose from.

I picked the case based on the knowledge that its cheap and I know it fits a 360 radiator without modifications :)

There are other WC ready cases, or cases that can be made WC ready with minor modification for around the same price area.

You could also explore the route of getting a CM690 II Advance case and using 2x240 radiators :)

Need to add a pump, there's only a res listed ther

Personally I would only use proper pipe cutters.

If the pipe isn't cut straight the chance of leaks is much, much higher. Just not worth the risk IMO for the sake of a few pounds in a plumbers merchant.

money is an issue for watercooling as it is for most things. not everyone wants to spend tons :P

also scissors can get nice cuts too, if you have good ones. no need for custom hardware for cutting pipes which you will hardly do anyway
