My First full build, shopping list comments please

Ok guys soon going to buy all my parts for my first complete self build, I’ve researched most of my data from here. And would like peoples comments and suggestions of things I could do better / change. The insides will be the following;

Over clocking wise I intend to overclock at a moderate level nothing extreme. Though I won’t discount this for the future.

The only major problem I have atm is the case, budget around £150, I’m leaning toward Lian Li cases mainly but I do like the ATCS 840 Classic as well I don’t want a flashy case I want something smart that has good cooling / low noise and especially have lots of space inside to work, also I would like to try water cooling in the future. And I want this case to last me a good few upgrades. One other thing I know is that due to the length of the 5870 ATI cards I want have two of them in the future and have the ability to comfortably fit both the case.

Just to give you an idea of what I want from the computer, it’s a gaming rig mainly, I intend to have Eyefinity for across 3 screen (yes I know about the monitor restrictions) and then across the top I intend to have 3 smaller monitors which will run from the existing 8800GTS cards I have, they won’t be used from graphically intense applications. Only for WoW multiboxing mainly.

Anyway comments suggestion welcome. I intend doing a build log once I get started but you advise and comments will be welcomes especially as this is my first self build.
 
Looks like a great machine there :D. If you are planning on vlovking the 920 @4ghz, a "few" people have had hard times achieving this with 12gb ram so be careful:P. Also, how about find £60 from somewhere are get the corsair 800d. Lovely case, large and cable management is easy?
 
Yea, the funny thing is the case is actually tyhe thing i have spent the most time agonising over and i just cant seem to make a decision, though i have to say the corsair 800d does appeal i like its simple looks and huge interior.

Though i do like the UFO2 as well though i cant find it for sale in the uk.

Then again a lot of the Lian Li cases are just awesome ..

I have a big pile of recently delivered components waiting to be built into a PC. My core components are very similar to yours.

I agonized between the cases ATCS 840 and Corsair 800d.
Eventually I went for the ATCS 840. The only thing I didn't like was the silly large logo on the front. After some research I rejected the Corsair because people were increasingly saying it was primarily designed for a water cooling rig - air cooling wasn't a strength of the case. I hate case windows, lights neons etc. I like simple understated plain cases. The 840 is ever so slightly racy for me but the discrete cream coloured box I wanted doesn't seem to exist in this years case fashions.
Beware - looking at my (empty) 840 case - it is huge!

I also thought long and hard about the Corsair H50 water cooling unit and decided against. I like to keep my kit a long time and I simply don't trust such a unit long term - it only has a 2 year warranty. Be careful here.

Fan controller - is one worth bothering with.

I didn't go down the 5870 route - I don't like early being an adopter of new technology. I went for a 4890 with the intention of buying a 5870 or two lnext year when hopefull "Silent" versions will have become available, drivers have stabilized and maybe even prices have dropped. I can redeploy the 4890 so it is not extravagant.

I have the ATCS 840 case. It is lovely. Really nice and spacious, and the pull out motherboard tray really helps with building. Has excellent case cooling. I also went for the ATCS 840 because of it's understated looks. It is very sleak, and even the logo isn't too annoying.

However, I have also heard a lot of good things about the Corsair 800D. It is meant to also be a very large case, with excellent cable management, just like the ATCS 840.

My vote would be for the ATCS 840 of course, as I own one. But take a serious look at the Corsair 800D if you can afford the extra little bit.

I don't think you will regret buying either one of these cases.
