I'm nearly blind so like my sound LOL and forgive the typing mistakes:D

My audio setup is a Marantz sr7010 reciever, Monitor Audio rx6 fronts, rx center, silver 1s back and sides. I can't have in celling speakers so I have 2 kef r50s on me fronts.

I gotta say it sounds awesome to me:) Added the kefs last (a few days ago). I was surprised how well it upmixes 2 channel music to atmos, I usally listen to music in pure mode but the upmix works really well and sounds fuller.

nice - glad to hear the KEFs are sounding good

I've had a Denon X7200w for about a year and I keep meaning to come up with an Atmos solution - but I couldn't decide where to drill a load of holes !

I've yet to hear an Atmos setup. TBH I'm not certain that a room my size would benefit from it. I really don't want any more speakers in my room either.

OP, Interesting that you use the Atmos setup for upmixing 2 channel music.

The best Atmos demo I heard was at this years Bristol Show which was an Arcam setup played through KEF speakers with the four height speakers fitted to metal supports above. It'd be great if we could have Atmos recorded music as the demo featured a recording that was done in a cathedral and it was amazing how it was able to capture the acoustics of the environment - very much gave the sense of being there.

I really hope Atmos gains momentum as I'm investing in it myself for my own cinema room, trouble is most people can't accommodate speakers in the ceiling and would struggle to get the right conditions for the upward firing setup too.

I was really disappointed that the last Avengers film didn't have an Atmos soundtrack, here's hoping that the new Captain America film sees an Atmos release on Blu-ray.
