My Rig is as follows...
Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
2Gb (2X1Gb) CorsairTwinX XMS2 Pro, DDR2 PC6400(800) 4-4-4-12
Ati Radeon 512 xtx Graphic Card.
Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)

Well this is my first overclock on my cpu.
This is my bios(1602)settings.
CPU Freq 371
DRAM Settings DDR2 742MHz
Performance mode TURBO
PCI Express Freq 107
PCI Clock Sync Mode 33.30MHz
Mem Volt 2.10v
CPU Vcore 1.5250v
FSB Term Volt 1.40v
MCH Chipset v 1.55v
ICH Chipset v 1.20

My CPU-Z Reads....
Core speed 3342.8MHz
Multipiler x9
Bus speed 371.4MHz
FSB 1485.7MHz
FSB Dram 1.1
Core Temp 44 and 44

I am using air cooling, but i wanted to get my rig up to 3.6 and im not sure how much more voltage i can put into the Vcore without causing any damage to the cpu, and would i need to change anymore voltage settings anywhere else?
Also a friend of mine has given me a program called ORTHOS, tbh im afraid to run as i dont know how it works...is it just a test programe on the cores of the cpu or something?

Not a bad overclock although i'd say your probably using too much vcore for running at 3.3ghz. What cooling are you using? I would say 1.55v is the limit on air. Try upping your MCH voltage to 1.65 it wont hurt.

ORTHOS is a program that stresses the CPU to test how stable it is underload

Sorry i'm not hijacking.. just crossed my mind, but does the 'Performance mode' actually affect anything if you're manually overiding settings anyway?

Just curious.

I dont think it does im pretty sure it only tightens your timming using hyperpath 3 or something although im not sure about it at all! Gains are very minimal though.

CaptMoody, is it stable underload? What are the temperatures like under load? Only then can you say if 3.6 is a go

Well i can rum 3dmark 05 with no probs, but woiuld i really need to use that program Orthos to be sure?

But Hyperpath3 is better disabled, i've read. So therefore shouldn't affect anything really.

Cheers, anyway.

Yeh it'd be better to use the Orthos program for a few hours.

CaptMoody your Vcore is too high, you should be able to get the same clock with the Vcore at 1.35

Im getting 3333.3 x 9 = 3.33Ghz on 1.35Vcore.

I have had the e6600 up to 3.6 at 1.5Vcore, but not as stable as I would like. As Im on air like you I did not want to push it, a touch more Vcore and 3.6 would run fine.

Not always Mine needs 1.5v just to be stable at 3.4ghz. Mine does 3.05ghz on stock volts (1.35v) though

I always thought stock Vcore for an E6600 was 1.325, but I could be wrong

I thought stock was 1.3. that's what mines set too in BIOS anyway.. run's 3Ghz rock solid.. 10 hours ORTHOS.
