so many moons ago i had a intel quad core, as a spare pc but have mainly used AMD duel , quard and hex machines. I got a new work machine i7 alien ware and its been ok so i got wondering what it would be lke to go intel again.
so i got my self
Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 Socket 1150 Motherboard
Intel Core i7 4770K 3.50GHz Socket 1150 8MB Cache Retail Boxed
CORSAIR Vengeance Pro Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 DRAM 2400MHz
I have just put it all together and it went in easy peasy.
I hope to see a vast improvment all round from my last rig: amd 1090T 6 core and 8Gb ram all being 5 years old so DDR2 and AM3
will post pictures shortly and then also post back with my comparisons.

the rest of the rig is 2x 120 corsair SSD in raid 0
and 1x nvidia 770GTX

Great Success!

I'm still rocking the 1090t with DDR3 mate ;) Although have an i5 now just waiting till I'm free then'll upgrade ;)

OMG!!! all i can say is its soo quick boots in 13secs flat
everything is so much faster in general even just web browsing.

Just need to get a game on it now:)

The key to that is the SSDs.... processor choice & graphics card will have almost no impact (assuming still SATA 3) but the HDD choice makes a MASSIVE difference. Makes me sad when people skimp on storage and don't get an SSD at all :(
