Hi all

I have never bought a LCD and have always used a 21" CRT.
Now I have come to purchase a LCD I am confused by 1080p and Full HD.

I wanted this LCD -Hanns-G HH251DPB 24.6" but on their site it does not say it's Full HD
even though it says it's 1080 http://www.hannsg.com/EU/EN/Products/22 Widescreen/Common.aspx?productId=781

I looked at the Hanns-G HH251HPB on the same site
http://www.hannsg.com/EU/EN/Products/LCD Monitors/Common.aspx?categoryID=16&productId=63

And that says 1080 Full HD I am so confused HELP :D

Hi there,

Unfortunately you have hit the fun that is monitor/TV jargon.

That monitor has 1920x1080 physical pixels, by definition this is 1080p or "Full HD". It may mention one, or all of these things on different sites - but if it is one then it is all of them.

May I ask what your monitor budget and uses are? We would be happy to give you some monitor recommendations based on your needs :)

I am on a budget of about £140. I have seen a Hanns-G HH251DPB and 25" LCD would be good.
I just want to play to odd game and watch films on it and keep my CRT for graphics.
Any recommendations you have would be great :)

You'll struggle to find decent monitor of 25" with that budget. For a decent monitor with that budget you'll be looking at the 22"/23" sizes.
