Just ordered my first ever Mac.

The refreshed 27" iMac with 2.93ghz i7 & 8gb RAM, and an iPod Touch for £19 after rebate!

Been a PC user for ever but since getting the iPhone and iPad I'm now converting to Apple's 'it just works' ethos.

Got a load of HD video editing to do and hopefully it'll cope :D - Just booked a session for Final Cut Express in Regent Street next week!!

Not estimated for delivery though until 10th-11th August :mad:I don't understand why they don't have them ready built - Changing a processor and RAM is hardly a massive confuguration change over standard and they must be anticipation people wanting these over stock

Oh well - plenty of time to back up all my PC crap!

My MacBook Pro arrived over a week before the estimated date, so it probably isn't that long to wait!

I wouldn't get sucked into the whole "it just works" crap either. Just like any other OS it can fall over, and OS X is a bit retarded in places! :p

Build to order stuff has to come from Shanghai. If there is any delay in shipping times from there, then it takes time.

OSX usually just works, at least it doesn't seem to break as much as windows. As it's optimised for a handful of hardware configurations it runs nice a fast too. :)

just got my first ever too, a MBP 13

i dont know how to bloody work it, argh. i need a manual or something, whats best?

i'm a keyboard shortcut freak. how do i maximise without click the green plus button, how do i close finder window (cmd+q doesnt work) , i'm used to alt +f4 to close everything.

its only been two days so we'll have to see if it lives up to the hype, but i had to get one,the curiosity had been killing me

Hmm! I have an iMac and a W7 PC - I find that both systems "just work" and the W7 "just works" for a hell of a lot less cash than an iMac so not sure you can use that as a valid excuse for blowing one hell of a lot of money on a whim.

Don't get the whole iPad thing at all - I put that in expensive toy category.
