I think the only thing i'm worried about is wether the Graphics card will work well with the Mobo? and if you can see any other compatability issues then please tell me. also will the power suply be sufficient enough? can you find a cheaper one than that?

[Edit] also what will happen if i buy a PSU that isnt powerfull enough, because i have just been on (http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine) to calculate the voltage required and it said 591 :O should i get a better psu?[/Edit]
Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Many Thanks, Dan :)

That pc is all compatible but you have missed out a hard drive.

There are a few things that I would change though. Will you be overclocking the pc? If yes then this pc will be better, it also has a faster graphics card.

wow thanks for the quick reply.

the reason i left out the Hard drive is because i already have a spare one with an OS already loaded, so i dont want to have to buy another and then fork out for the OS.

i would like to stick to the AMD processor because it already has 3.0GHZ and can overclock from there if needs be and it seems to be better for gaming. Plus intel seems more expensive for less GHZ

what psu would you reckon i need because i have been reading 600w is Minimum  750w is better.

Many Thanks, Dan

I doubt you will be able to use the OS on your hard drive with your new pc. You would probably need to reinstall windows because of the driver problems as you have changed the motherboard.

The antec 500W psu that I specced is more than enough to power a 8800GTS or x1950pro.

Intel is using a different architecture to AMD. So even though the ghz is less, the intel will still perform faster.

If you still want an AMD system then I would go for something like this.

Well yes but going on the CPUs in this thread at stock speeds the AMD chip will be faster (it costs about twice as much so you'd expect that), an E6420 and the X2 6000+ would be rather closer even though the E6420 has an actual speed of 2.13ghz. So while I do agree with your point I think perhaps it isn't as clear as you have made it sound. :)

so every thing is compatible? and sure to work?

what PSU would i need do you think? is that 600w sufficient or do i need a more powerfull one?

thanks, Dan

mcnic2005 The pure GHZ speeds of differnt modles and in this case amd vs intel do not show the speeds.

Some pentiums have higher GHZ then the C2Ds yet the C2ds are by far faster.

It relies on other things like arcutecture. The AMD's design is old and it suffers from that. The C2D is new and is actually a lot faster then you might think. Also the overclockability of the C2Ds is unbelievably good. I strongly suggest you get one.

Does anyone buy AMD anymore who wants a duel core or above?

Sorry for the bad spelling im ever so tired lol.
