22" LG L227WT monitor!

I am very sorry for the quality of the pic, but its a phone camera...:(

Clicky me for a pic!

All I can say is, this monitor certainly has a WOW factor about it, the colours are...really...almost as good as a CRT...and the viewing angles on this screen are probably the best I have seen from a TFT.

Great service from ocUK and thanks for the saturday delivery deal! :D

EDIT:New better(ish) pics...had to use flash on some to get it to focus on a crappy snapshot camera:

I mainly got the bigger widescreen monitor for the wheel, I play live for speed (which is what is on in the pic), rfactor, richard burns rally and GRID.

The secret is buy a plain old 4 legged desk with a top they are much more comfortable when racing and dont rock like the cheap computer desks you get, and have space...as you can see in the pic for the keyboard, mouse, wheel AND a brew....cant beat that. :D

Hiya,

Can you recommend a wheel setup so i can treeat her ??
Lat time i had to buy j/sticks etc MS were my choice, So it's been a while as you can see lol

And yeah i understand about the cheap wobbly desks (got a silver hole'y thing from a highstreet store, she does rock n roll lol) but i needed one fast n cheap

My ideal rig setup would be all hidden in a bureau (monitor fixed on the lift/hinged top, false opening drawers etc, something i've always wanted to do)

Failing that the spare bedroom, But she (the boss aka fiancee) says she won't let me as i would end up in there and never see her lol

Have Fun

The best wheel you can buy is the Logitech G25 available from ocUK.

The price is hefty...£160, but the wheel has;

- 6 speed H-shifter / Sequential Shifter / Paddle shifter (All 3!!)
- Very good pedals, this one comes with a clutch. They are made so that the throttle is light, clutch is quite heavy and the brake is heavy just like a real car.
- Leather stitched wheel, has 900 degrees of rotation which is changeable in game. Good force feedback.
- Works with PC and PS2/3 (gran turismo 5 is fully compatible including clutch!). Does NOT work with the xbox360.

Generally the best wheel you can buy...but is she a sim-racer? Would she make use of a wheel that means you have to clutch-shift properly or is she more of the casual player?

Heres a good video which will give you an idea on what the G25 is all about:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IqTR07nSdFg (The gearbox is seperate and can be clamped on the left side of the wheel for us UKers :p)

Heya,

Dang that's one cool vid he he

She just watched it and likes it :)

She can drive but never took her test as she says there's too many nuts on the roads for her liking lol

I switched from MS to Logitech in most things yrs ago so i trust logitech

Bit steep 1st look but then again i got some CH rudder pedals gathering dust and they cost a fair whack lol

My plan err well her's is, I've got the go ahead for new mobo/2 ati cards/new g-skill ram when it's out and as long as i finish making the kitchen (long story lol) i can get the logitech setup :)

I really didn't realise just how far the wheels etc have come along

So all in all been a nice eventful day for me :D

Cheers
