My First Overclock. C2D E6300/4CoreDual-VSTA

Hi all,

So I pulled off my first overclock today and got my E6300 running at 2GHz, now I was hoping somebody would able to help me boost it a little more.

I have only been uping the Bus Speed, and I managed to get it 285MHz, if I go any higher on boot the system halts at the post screen after stating "Dual Channel Mode".

I am using the GeIL 800MHz Low Latency DDR2, the one thats currently 58.74 at overclockers.

Any help would be great.

Think your mobo has reach its limit, VIA chipset never was famous for high FSB overclocks. Raise your north bridge chipset voltage if you have the option otherwise there is not much else you can do I'm afraid.

The Asrock tops out at around 300 FSB.

I suspect that it is the memory settings that are stopping you from getting there. Set the timings manually and you may get that last little bit.

Thanks for the advice, I will take a look at those, I have read about them before and didnt have a clue what the article was on about, but maybe i will understand more when in practice.

from my old Dual-VSTA (similar board), AGP & DRAM volts to high, PCI-E freq to 110 or 117 might help

i maxed out at 302Mhz FSB ORTHOS stable.

apparantly with a few volt-mods you can get even higher....
