...was a lot easier than I thought it would be! I was hoping someone with more experience could comment on the below so I know I'm on the right tracks.

i5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz
vCore = 1.33
Prime95 running for 38 minutes
Temps (max): 59/67/66/68

Temps seem a bit high to me for an H50 I thought. I'm tempted to clean up cooler/CPU and reapply some themal compound.

What do you think?

not sure regarding the h50 temps, although im thinking about getting one.

4.5ghz is the highest i can go on auto volts, which goes to about 1.28 and my temps with a arctic cooler rev7 go to 69/70 under prime

my i5 2500k @ 4.4ghz 1.3V hits 55-61C after hour of prime 95

i tried 1.35v and 4.5ghz but cant get it stable, so am sticking to 4.4ghz for 24/7 use.

@1.35v my temps went up a bit to 57-62C

Im very impressed with my hyper 212 cpu cooler, it punches well above its weight.

Those temps are perfectly safe, just look bit high, im just wondering what case you have?
what case fans you have?
maybe they are keeping temps up, Do you have at least 1 intake and 1 exhaust fan?

im using haf 912 plus with stock fans, might add top exhasut and side intake later on.

edit price checked:
hyper 212 £21 vs. h50 £52

Thing is hyper 212 is not very good for big overclocks, it holds it own vs the midrange coolers at smaller overclocks

If you were going for an overclock of 4.9ghz,5ghz+ then maybe something more chunky and powerful like noctua NH-D14 is what you'll want.

I dont want to push more than 1.35v through my chip for 24/7 usage so for me the hyper 212 plus seems good fit, and i'll be using it in friends/family builds, its a good bang for buck cpu cooler.

long post..... i think that coffee is kicking in hehe
