Had a go at overclocking after building my new system, Here is the spec.

i5 3570k Cpu
Asus P8Z77 V-LX Motherboard
16gb Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz
Sapphire 7970oc Gpu
Corsair Force3 120gb SSD
Seagate 1tb HDD 6gb/s
Diamondmax 500gb HDD 3gb/s (old drive)
OCZ Fatal1ty series 750w Psu
Corsair H80 Watercooler
Antec 600 Gaming Case
Windows7 64bit home.
AOC 23" LED Monitor 1920x1080

I used the asus utility that was supplied with the board, i chose a fast overclock and not the extreme option and it gave me an overclock of 4100Mhz (100x41.0)

I did a 10 min Torture test with Prime95 and I never encountered any issues.
I have read any instability should show within first few mins so i think i should be ok with this mild overclock though i will test for longer.
If i had clicked extreme overclock what do you think it would have managed based on the info below?

Room temp: 19'c
idle temp: 27-30'c
Maximum temp 55'c
Voltage 1.240

Thanks Paul.

I'm gonna use the asus utility too. On boost I'm at 3.9ghz now so 4.2ghz would be perfect. I don't want to overclock to 4.5, I see no point really. 4.2 will do me just fine.

I've been reading a lot on overclocking and it still confusing as hell? I'll let asus program do it for me.
