My first panorama

I took this last year from a hill overlooking Belfast Lough but I'm wanting to re-shoot it in the next couple of weeks. Beyond getting rid of the camera shake which is really obvious in the (Insainly big) original any suggestions on how else I could improve it?

It was taken from the Knockagh war memorial. I took about 25 images and stuck them together in PhotoShop, that's actually only about two thirds of the full image, just off to the left I had the moon reflecting off the surface of the Lough but the camera shake messed it up too badly. If you look in the bottom right corner you can just see a hedge starting to emerge so I don't think I can shoot much further to the right but I'll give it a go.

The 70-300 VR is quite nice although I haven't had much of a chance to use it yet, I only got it on the 23rd Dec. The VR works really well if a little distracting during panning shots when you notice that the image is moving perfectly horizontally, but the novelty soon wears off and you can get on with taking great shots. Nikon state that you can drop down 4 stops using the VR, I'm not sure about that but I was able to get some acceptable shots at a floodlit rugby game where my 24-70 f2.8 just wasn't fast enough (Or long enough) but I still couldn't get the ISO much below 1600 requiring a heavy dose of noise ninja. My next planned outing is to the Irish Super bikes in April but I'm sure I'll find something to shoot with it before then.

Its a 3.5MB Jpeg and even after scaling it down a good bit the camera shake is quite noticeable and is the main reason for me wanting to re-shoot it. I took it with my old D50 with my Sigma 24-70 EX DG lens.
