above is the build I've gone for as recommended by superewza but after phoning this through I picked up a mag and read a review of processors. The AMD phenom ii 955 has an amazing write, much better than the 945 I've gone for but is only about £8 more expensive.
So should I buy the 955 instead and return the 945 and delay my build by a day and how much will OC charge me for the pleasure?

I would get the 955 tbh, and nope they won't. You can contact them before its being shipped and they wont charge you for changing (but obv you need to pay the difference £8). But if they have already shipped it, you will have to send the cpu back which will cost you the postage which won't be much.
Also, please post pics up and tell me how the memory is as i can't find any reviews on it.

id swap your motherboard for Gigabyte GA-MA785GT-UD3H as well. Only 2 quid more and you get an extra PCIe 2.0 x16 Slot and another SATA spot

The 945 is basically a 940 with a DDR3 memory controller, and the 940 was an amazing overclocker. Was AMD's desktop flagship for a while. I'd stick with it if i'm honest.

I did go for the Gigabyte GA-MA785GT-UD3H as the UD2H wasn't in stock
Wasn't going to overclock the system so do people think the 955 will be better in this system??

Stick with the 945, you wont really notice any difference between the two in normal use.

yes you have, as for going for 955..na..I bet the 945 can overclock to their speeds anyway if not beyond
