Hi, im new here just looking for some advice. My old Pentium 4 has been donated to an arcade machine that I have just finished building so i've been looking to build a cost effective gaming rig, i've been looking at buying one off ebay but they seem overprice so I have ordered the following components from ****** and amazon.

This will be my first PC build, looking back perhaps i should have sought advice on this forum before ordering but could you tell me whether the following will be ok to see me out for the next few years....the mobo is crossfire compat so i'l throw in another 6850 at some point when i can afford it.

MSI 870A Fuzion AMD 770 Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
PowerColor HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DP Out PCI-E Graphics Cards
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Six-core Processor - 3.20 GHz, 9 MB Cache, Socket AM3, 125W, 45 nm
G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600mhz Ripjaws Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V
Powercool 750W 80plus Certified Efficiency PSU - 1x PCI-E 4x SATA
LiteOn IHAS124-19 24x DVD±RW DL & RAM SATA Optical Drive - OEM Black with Nero Essentials
Black Mid Tower Gaming Case with 3x Display Dials on front panel With Side Window
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache

Total cost £548....not including os, will buy Windows 7 Home Premium..looking to see where i can find it the cheapest.

Oh yeah and i will gaming on an HD tv at 1080p...

Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks

you could have bought sandybridge, its just faster.

And Powercool PSU are the suck.

Could put a cheaper motherboard in, but kept the crossfire compatibility.

Would it not be better to pay the extra £10 for the i5 2500k? And the msi gd53 is only £108, has 2 (x16) pci lanes and is a atx motherboard? It's not available at ocuk and the motherboard prices here are a bit high.

Is the i5 that much better? i always assumed that you got more bang for your buck with AMD....i'm annoyed at myself now. Will my rig still do the business though? I would hate to think i've spent all this money on something that wont run the games how i want.....thanks for the replies though...
