Hi guys

Can I have some advice please on the attached for my first PC build. I'm not looking for the best PC in the world, but one that can run total war games and most of the latest games. My budget is £1000.

Although micky knows his stuff and has put in some good work there. Me personally... I think you would get more performance for the same dollar by going z97 chipset. I'll price it up tommorrow but you should be able to get a considerably better graphics card and therefore gaming experience for the same money. I really don't see the advantage to ddr4 yet. Same for skylake.

Edit and put the http: in and it works fine (I'm not sure if this is related to editing the post after submitting it the first time)

No problem :)

Either my build or Micky's build are the sort of thing you should be looking at with your budget.

You can swap the GTX 970 for an R9 390 if you don't have any preference between Nvidia and AMD. They perform pretty similar at 1080 resolution, but the R9 390 has more vram which is never a bad thing.
