Hi Guys.

I've only just got round to this Photography milarky since the Boss Lady bought me a nice EOS 33v for our anniversary (I know its a Film camera, but I'm a bit 'Old Skool' :D ).

Anyway over the Easter weekend we went visiting friends and family up t'North, so I took the h'oportunity to have a play with some nice B&W photography.

I'm basically using these as a guide to help me improve by comparing them to 'Langfords 6th Edition - Basic Photography' and 'Langfords 4th Edition - Starting Photography' that the Boss bought me at Crimbo

Please give me your honest opinions!... (but be gentle with me!... I'm a typical bloke and haven't read the manual proporly/fully yet!)...

I've even made a Sparkly (sort of) Website to show em off!... :D

Just Click each Photo for a Larger version!...

Its a weekend some people will be working. It usually helps to show your pictures in the thread, not via a link, thats sometimes a definate "hit the back button" thing :)

K, my views - good first start, I've never used film myself, but the main problem with the pics seems to be the focus? All seem soft, is this due to the scanning in or what, did you use the tripod stated on your site? My favourite is the waterfall shot with the log in front, I think if the waterfall was in focus and the log not, it would be a much better shot.

Hope that helps.

I think the above is correct, they do seem soft. I had trouble putting my finger oni, as they didnt seem to do much for me.

Yeah it was the Scanning... as the shots are a bit grainy the moir just looked horrendus!... so I had to soften them a bit!...

I did use the Tripod a few times but it wasn't easy on the Rocks!...

Here's a few...

Very nice choice of subjects, but i feel they would look a lot better if they were shot with a DSLR (better sharpness ect). Although I think that all of the ones on the second page look great, perfect contrast on all of them. Keep up the good work :)
