And it starts to rain before I can get some nice long exposures of the clouds :( Not overly pleased with the results. Yay or Nay?

To be brutally honest it isn't great. Too dark and doesn't look very sharp at all.

The composition looks to be spot on, you just need to expose it better or do it on a day with better light.

As a none photographer, I think it's just too dark. Could you maybe highlight the flowers and make them really red or something?

I guess as said, it really needs a bit of light from somewhere, lol.

Still, better than I could do!!

If someone put a castle near that treeline, and some god rays came out, it would be alright wouldn't it. :)

Im not a big fan either, but it might be worth a try for the sake of it!

Im calling this one a lost cause now. Pointless wasting time on something thats not great to start with.

So glad you're not always perfect MK.

If I do this will you guess who I am?

I only posted it to make your mear mortals feel better. :p If you went through my entire photo collection you'd fine plenty of bad pics. Its just that I take that many, that the law of averages results in some good ones. :) No idea who you are btw, other than someone with mixed emotions. :p

I tried increasing the luminosity of the red, but it ended up looking fake.

As you say MK, at least you know the spot. I would say pop back there when it is sunny (next year I expect)

Yup, it was mainly trying to find the location. Ive got a few other places in mind that might be good as well, so i'll have a look there some other time. Now all I need to find it a motorway overpass with the right conditions. hmm..

i wouldnt discredit it straight away, remember what the poppies are most synonymous with, i think the dark adds to that feel. Focus would have only enhanced that.
Try looking at what the photo means and says, it only needs a soldier looking figure to be walking down the track bit about mid shot to be pretty darn good.
Ironically i think this, obviously unintentionally is one of your better shots.

At least you didn't get chased out of a field by a woman and a dog, as this is what happend when I was taking my shots. There were not any signs saying no tresspassing and I thought the field belonged to the National Trust. Anyway, haven't you left it a bit late for shooting poppies now as they are dying off? Incidently this was what the woman was shouting at me. :D
