My first project - New User

Hey everyone!
I'm pretty excited about this first dream build of mine, which I would like to become a reality soon.
Since this is my first time building a pc EVER, and even picking out the components for it, I'm not quite confident that I did do everything right even though a researched every single component before I went ahead and added it to my chart.

So that's why I'm in here, to show you my project and hopefully get some feedback on improvements or wether it's a decent build or not for the amount of money I'm going to spend on it.

So now to the more exciting part.
The build:

Motherboard:

CPU:

It certainly does! Might have to reconsider this build again, and actually go for the Haswell. But this is just the tip of the iceberg and lots of changes are to come I'm pretty sure.

I'd go for the haswell as well. if you're not in a rush, wait for the new K version that should be out soon. if you're not planning on overclocking ever, go for the non k ones.
and I wouldn't go for the phantom (i had one) if you're ever planning on watercooling.

Yeah well I guess it won't hurt waiting for the new ones, although overclocking is not my top priority since I'm not very experienced with pc's (yet) so not gonna jump into anything I don't know jacksh*t about, but eventually it will probably happen. Damn that sucks I really did like the phantom case, even though watercooling isn't going to be build in the first round it might come later. I just prefer a white case that's pretty much what's most important. (regarding cases)

i didn't know anything about computers last year but after a couple of months I decided to start overclocking and it was worth it!

and don't get me wrong, it's not horrible to work with, it's just not ideal.
how about the 540 or the 760T?

The 540 is slightly too big for my taste, and doesn't really have anything "special" to it. But I do like the 760T with the fan details at the front. But would prefer something that was completely white, and if that's not possible then something like completely black.

This machine will primarily be used for gaming. And yes I have considered an SSD but I would prefer more space on the hard drive over the little speed increase with an SSD. And an SSD HD will be pretty pricey if you're gonna get a lot of gb's on it.

most people use an ssd for os and programs, and a hdd for data. It more than a small speed increase, I can press the on button and my pc is on in the time it takes me to sit in my chair

That does make it tempting to get an SSD. Would it be possible to get an SSD together with a HDD? Cause there's a pretty decent bundle ocuk got going on right now. It's just so much more expensive, and my budget is pretty tight. Got 1-1,2k to spend.

Alright seems like you guys are not only recommending me to get an SSD, but also telling me to get one. And since I'm quite sure I don't have more knowledge than you within this area, I will take your advice, and get an SSD for OS and a hard drive for storage.
