This is my prelim OC on the Q9650 I bought from Purgatory (Cheers mate) core0 is reading a bit high although it may be a sensor at fault and im going to see if I can knock the voltage down a bit more before I go higher clock speeds.

Prime had run from 10.30 pm till 6.45ish am on blend then I switched to CPU stress at 6.50am till now.

What do you guys think? Go lower on the volts to see how low it will go stable?

use Intel Burn test, Do 50 runs of that with all RAM tested.

Should take about 2-3hrs to complete and will tell you in that 2-3hrs what it takes prime95 20+hrs to do the same

Nice. What tool is that in the top left? Why does it say a different core voltage to CPU-Z?

It's Coretemp and it shows the "rated" voltage that the chip needs to run at stock. This is only a guide tbh and as you'll see from CPUZ, he's running at 3.6GHz and at a lower voltage than the VID and he has a good clocker therefore

From my own experience the voltage in CPU-Z varies depending on the load. So is the voltage shown here in CPU-Z, with the CPU working at 100%, the voltage that has been set in the BIOS? Is the BIOS vcore setting actually a max voltage?

Hmmm, I'm running Core Temp on my work PC and the VID is changing. Is that normal?

Also the frequency is showing: 4000.39MHz (666.73 x 6.0). I assume that is an error? CPU-Z says my bus speed is 332.5MHz (as expected with an E8400).
