my first sandy bridge OC.. how does everything seem temp wise?

yeh both fans are spinning at 100% on the radiator! ive plugged the h50 in directly to the psu through a 3 pin converter! so my guess is that its number 3! if i take the h50 off will i be able to put it back on without new paste? since i havent got any here and really need it ;(

thanks for the help by the way its much appreciated

you should be ok with the paste if your careful not to rub it off. In an ideal world you should have some on standby.

If you don't want to take it right off maybe just loosen it, swivel it around a bit and then tighten it up again... the main thing is to get it even.I do opposite screws a few turns each and so on.

Also just check your molex to 3 pin for the pump... some are low fan speed i.e. 5v instead of 12v designed for silent running fans

alright so now ive updated to 1053 BIOS version, set vcore to 1.295 and multi to 42.... and now im getting 40 degrees at idle? so i have no clue whats going on now

lol I have very similar issue. At 4.6GHz @1.3v I am getting 75 degrees in OCCT which is unbelievable high and note the cooler / heatpipes are not even warm. I tried to mount it 3 times and I am getting the same temperatures each time. When I had previously Q6600 hitting 75 degrees I could feel it, cooler was hot and was blowing hot air. In this case I would not say I am hitting more than 60 and looks like this mainboard shows too high temperatures.

My cooler is Cooler Master V8, BIOS 1053...
