I had trouble with installing windows of a USB.
Problem was that i didnt have drivers for usb 3.0, and i tried all the things than finally i just changed the usb to 2.0 and it worked!

Now i only need GPU, SSD, Better cooling for CPU

I`m really happy with the case its big and has great cable managment system!
Even though my GPU is old i could se a difference in FPS in some games.

if you want silence then a non reference cooled gpu is a must! also a larger heatsink will allow for better cooling with lower rpm fans which will make it silent.

i can reccomend the megahalems with 2 akasa apches, or even one. its silent.

but a nice build otherwise

here is a comparison between the 660 and 7870. i think the 7870 just about beats the 660 is most games except bf3 where nvidia always wins. the benchs there though are out of date, a recent driver update for amd cards gave them a good performance boost.

i have a 7850 and its a great card and id consider that as an option too

Its an after market cooling which is pwm. Artic cooling acceloro twin turbo i bought it for 11 quid.

AMD last time they decreased the quality of image by more FPS.
Thats why im a bit unsure.
Will post some more pictures tommorrow with a better cable managment.
Now i only need CPU cooler, gpu and ssd after this i will be finally finished.

At the moment i have 1 fan at the back 2 on the top and 1 at the front.
3 antecs and 1 silentiumpc which takes the air in to the case.
I will buy parts after i come back, and will take gigabyte gpu.
The cooler i can spend about 25 pounds. Since its only i5 2400 stock.
At the moment i get temps - http://scr.hu/0u78/2lm97 with IC diamond 7 carat

To me the design doesnt count that much since i dont have a window.
2 fans quiet that will put some air in but dont cost too much. I can see these get good reviews YOUR BASKET
2 x Xilence XPF120R Red Wing 120mm Quiet Fan £6.95 (£13.90)
Total : £17.81 (includes shipping : £3.26).

And

YOUR BASKET
2 x BitFenix Spectre Plain BLACK 120mm Fan £4.80 (£9.60)
Total : £13.51 (includes shipping : £3.26).

The GPU for playing in 1920x1080 i think a 7870 would do or should i invest in 7950 ?
Gigabyte cooling from my experiance is quiet and cool.

Also I need to buy logitech g400 and mechanical keyboard - my current is razer arctosa and microsoft ie 3.0 which is getting a bit old and i get 2 klicks. The keyboard doesnt allways catch up with my typing...

This is a reason why i want to get an aftermarket cooling! Iv changed the thermal compound to IC diamond 7 carat and temps went down with 2c in idle and 1c in load.

Yes, I was hoping for a silent build as well with passive cooling and no fans or spinning drives. Either way it should be quiet with the selected antec case. Keep the build pictures coming.

SoC

I will try to keep the pictures next update in next month, GPU, CPU cooler and fans.

Another hard decision to make

Hazzah for antec cases! The P series is probably the only good looking cases that antec makes apart from the skeleton of course.

Your build looks promising, doing any mods to the case itself?

Maybe, but i have no ideas.
Water Cooling is probably the next big thing i will do.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition Low Noise High Airflow - Dual Pack £19.99
Total : £23.90 (includes shipping : £3.26).

These are the next small upgrade.
So far my build costed me 568 quid without the fans. It is a budget build, which will perform quietlly and not so bad in games ;].

Any ideas on mods which i could make? :p

With the case it was between Bitfenix Ghost and this antec. I`ve looked forward the Ghost but it wasnt on stock and 5UB told me it could take up to a month to get it in stock. So i just bought p280, great case!

G400 is a very nice mouse. Its comfortable to use and pretty responsive. Had mine about 6 months. No problems so far.

So far i had Steelseries Ikari laser than A4tech x710bh after that Microsoft IE 3.0 (Very happy with this mouse but 2 click appealed so its time to upgrade! :D)

I got my beasty card!

Here are some pictures, the temps idle are 37C and Load max iv seen was 59c

These temps are after Borderlands 2 and BF3 over hour long session everything maxed out!
100fps dropping to 84 on BF3 with 12.11 beta 4 drivers! :p

I will run heavy hevan benchmark

I changed my mind on fans, going with these

YOUR BASKET
2 x Be Quiet! Silent Wings Fan Pure - 120mm £9.98 (£19.96)
Total : £23.88 (includes shipping : £3.26).

Now I`m still waiting for G400 and Intel 520 120gb, they didnt come with the GPU as iv made this choice on saturday :D

An upgrade is an upgrade no matter the value of it ;). You made a good choice, plus if you dont like the P280 in a few months time you can always sell this one and get the ghost.

Mods wise, im not sure without having a proper look at the cases interior. You may not need to do anything to it at all but if you're like me then you'll be finding something to tinker even if its perfect lol.

Edit: Just had a look at the interior and i can see the hard drive cage is fixed and built in unlike the older generation where it is a removable cage. I could see this as being abit of a problem if you're wanting to fit a radiator there... space wise. If it was upto me i would think about removing that section or removing some of it so i could mount a 240 rad. The top looks like it can only mount a 240 as well but again with some modding you could easily mount a 360 up there if you drilled in some custom mounting points (replace the roof with mesh would be the easiest and probably the simplest method). I would also make up a floor to seperate the psu area and the motherboard area. Again this can be easily achieved with a piece of smoked perspex or equivalent to your desired look and since you mount your psu upside down with the fan facing down anyways you could rest the perspex ontop of the psu and screw in the other side to the motherboard tray.

Another simple mod would be a nice case window, something that would just show off the nice bits of your system. I'm guessin the side panel on these are made of half plastic and aluminium so it would be best to take it to a CNC machining company or even a perspex/plastics company to cut and make you a window. The place i used charged me £50 for the whole lot, not bad considering the work needed doing to it and the smooth edging :).

That's a quick run down for you lol, i'll think of more im sure

If i will WC than i will probably change the case aswell, the antec seems good for Air cooling. But for WC it seems tight on space... ;)

WC in tight spaces is what makes it so exciting! Seeing how much you can squeeze into a tight spot ;)

Yep, for some people who like to fiddle with it and try new things.
I like to do things quickly, but i usually take my time anyway :p

Great thread, really interested to see how quiet this all is.

Well when I turn on the PC i have to look at the led to see if its actually on, in idle and load the level of noise is very low, I would say I`m satisfe with the build so far on the weekend. I will put the SSD in to see how it performs. So far the only thing I can hear is the HDD...
