My first spring flowers....

I havnt had time to post in a while, apart from the plastic at the back

I am pleased with these.....

Nice and simple, what do you reckon?

The files are a bit large and it takes a while for them to download.

I feel the colours are bit a flat and they don't look very sharp.
Nice angles though.

Looking at the EXIF info the shutter speed is only 1/20, so I hope you used a tripod ?

I did use a tripod. I dont have any sort of flash equipment that I could have used to help. Just me and my camera. I did play around in photoshop for a bit but my skills are lacking. What do you reckon it needs in PS?

You need to correct the White Balance to reduce the orange colour cast
-> Image -> Adjustments -> Curves
-> Image -> Adjustments -> Colour Balance

Sharpness can be applied by using Unsharp Mask
-> Filter -> Sharpen -> Unsharp Mask

Nice shots - but I find the flower on the backing paper to be a bit distracting.

These took aages to download, Uploadit sucks these days.

Pretty good - would have been nice to get rid of the cellophane though. I think you were reading my mind, I've just finished shooting some daffodils my GF bought. Will post in a sec.

That improves things 100%. Another "trick" is to use a small reflector to bounce light back onto the flower and the tripod will allow a greater depth of field e.g. http://milouvision.net/forum/CRW_0203-01ab.jpg
