My first stable overclock results

Hi all,

I have my E2160 @ 3.15Ghz with 1.475v in the BIOS and my Ballistix @ 4-4-4-12 840mhz 2.1v. Here is a screeny:


Can you give me some advice with anything else I can do.Depending on the 8 hours Orthos which im confident wit has Ive had 9 hours small FFTs. Im going to try lower the volts to 1.45. Ive tryed for 3.2Ghz but wont even boot.

This is what core temp is showing is this more like it



The board is a P35C DS3R

PS Thats after 10 mins of orthos with 1.45 volts now

I would try lowering your v-core to 1.35 and see if it improves the temps and then run orthos.

I dropped it to 1.4 and it lasted 30 secs in orthos and blue screened

Here are my latest results



Thats 3.15ghz 1.45v, Mem is 4-4-4-12 @840mhz 2.1v and the northbridge is +0.2v

The temps are way out on speedfan, I got core temp working on about 4 hours and the temps were up around 68oc

Im fairly sure you could get that overclock a little higher.
Maybe try 3.2ghz ? It runs stable on my E2140 on the same board with same memory, so i don't see why you shouldn't be able to match it

Ive tryed for 3.2ghz but it bluescreens after 4 seconds on orthos What sort of Vcore are you thinking?

well mine ran at about 1.425, but i guess its all very specific to your processor. Maybe just try notching the voltage up a little and see if it lasts longer without excessive heat.

Ive tryed it on 1.525v and still only lasts about 30 seconds

the ballistix is capable of 1333MHz, and the P35 boards arent affected whether there is 2 or 4 sticks of ram in use

Do you think I would be able to run the memory 3-3-3-8 @1050Mhz ?

That would be 3.0 devide on the ram its 2.0 at the moment

Listern to what people are saying to you and put them on 2.2v and try up the cpu a bit.

I have them on 2.2v now and like a said I cant get it stable past this speed even uping the vcore to 1.5 still no good, bluescreens
