Hi,

I'm not sure if anyone will be interested in this...

Here is my first ever tune, basically me just learning how to use software and create a basic drum beat / melody etc. Completely made with FL Studio Pro XXL from ground up:

Basic Idea

All I wanted to do with my second tune is experiment a bit more with pitching and I have been a bit more adventurous with the drums and especially the hi hat!

Chill Out

Not really even thought of names yet, just though I would post em up and see what you think. Go easy tho, I am a n00b and do not know how to use 90% of the softwares capabilities yet!

I don't consider these proper tunes as they are unfinished and short / repetative. I'm wondering if I should develop them more or get stuck into my first 'proper' track.

What do you think!

Cheers,

Ant.

I'm impressed and it just shows what you can do with software nowadays.
I had my first synth back in 74 and I could only play one note at a time.
I would have loved software like this but all the tunes would have had a smattering of heavy metal guitar in them.

Nice!

I like the first one best, you've got a nice blend of sounds mixed in to good effect. The only thing I would say that could be improved is the beats. They sound a little treble-y in the first track, and I'm not that keen on them in the second track.

Sounds good overall though, especially for a first attempt :)

Cool thanks for the feedback. :)

I will try to learn how to use the software properly and will probably just keep updating this thread. I think i want to vary the tunes a bit more and have more going on. Should make it less rerpetative and and a bit more interesting to listen too.

Cheers!

Ok first efforts, good use of strings and synths etc. However, try to get a bit more depth to the tracks - at the moment it sounds a bit like a "block" of sound waves. Try getting in some sweeping effects, stereo FX and chopping up the beats a bit for variation.

Also, try to work out how to build pure sine waves for bass lines then add FX, and saturate them into the track

Have you tried the demo or full version of Ableton Live? Very versatile proggie
