I was out trying to capture some of the beauty in the world along a country lane...

And then this car pulled in just ahead of me, I took a picture of it, and carried on snapping away at the landscape.

After about 5 minutes it finally left, and as it went by I saw the driver was a Police officer, I took more pictures and waved. :)

Youtube is littered with videos of Police hassling photographers, not that I was, but has anyone here ever experienced it?

That, or perhaps being in the middle of nowhere (by the looks of it) he was doing his rounds and just stopped to see what you were up to. I'd imagine that if it is pretty remote, you might have been one of the most interesting things that cropped up.

Random car stops at quiet spot on a country road, you take photos and wave. Sounds like he was a disappointed dogger since all you did was wave :( :D

Were you by your car? Perhaps he ran your plates just to be sure. Lock your doors "back" and front...hrhr.

I was walking, didn't have my car.

Oh damn, the officer was female too, seems I missed the trick. :o I'll be sure to swing my Canon strap around and around in a seductive manner next time.

I got stopped once, I said I was taking photos when they asked what I was doing, they said that was cool and went on their way.

Not as exciting as what some people encounter I guess :p

I took my gear into work last week, to check my hand luggage would fit in ryanairs carry on luggage template. I didn't want to get caught out the next day and find they wanted to put my camera gear in freight!

Going through my work security point they removed all my gear and started swabbing it. I asked what for and they said explosives. They didn't even smile when I said it was fine then because I'd rather blow my wife up than my camera gear.

I also had all my gear swabbed coming home from Italy. I must look the type :D

It looks like you were near some farm buildings? She probably stopped to see what you were doing in case you were casing the place out to steal farm machinery, which is one of the major problems in rural areas.
