My first video showreel

I like it, really nicely cut together and a nice mix of stuff to keep the viewer interested I'd turn the music volume down a little though!

Cheers, checked my levels and they seem fine? Are you sure your speakers just were not too loud?

nice one man :)

Cheers ;)

A few minor critiques:

1) The first shot of the guy getting the bike out of the van is pretty soft, once he gets it out there is nothing in focus too.

2) The close ups of the bikes with the shallow DOF shots: The bit in focus is way off to the side and isn't actually worth drawing the viewers eye to. You should try and get the bit that's in focus a bit more central (not right in the middle) and also use the focus to draw the viewers attention to something in particular.

Other than that is good.

Was aware of #1, thanks - looking back not sure why I added it to the showreel to be honest.

#2 I didn't notice this - definitely something to watch out for next time.

Thanks for the crit!

Might I ask what the purpose of it is? For fun or to get work? And if so, work in what?

Bit of both really, I'm going to apply next month for a job going abroad repping for a holiday company who specialise in a particular extreme sport. The rep's normally just rep, but I've been told if I have any media experience I'll have an advantage in the whole process.

Instead of linking numerous videos its easier to have just 1 video which shows the best bits of each of my videos.

Also I'm not a fan of no black bars. It's technically incorrect and doesn't look the same as with black bars despite any viewable area being the same.

Fair enough, I only really do it like that so that when its on my site it looks nice and clean without random black bars everywhere. The youtube version has the bars. Not sure I'm a fan on them though personally?
