on tuesday i managed to get my new watercooling loop setup, as it was my first i had asked around a bit on what blocks to get and what order things should go in.

Waterloop Kit:

Swiftech Apogee GT CPU Block
Swiftech MCW30 Chipset Block
Swiftech MCP655 (DD D5 Vario)
120x3 Alphacool Nexxos pro Radiator
Alphacool Cape coolplex 25cm External Reservoir
7/16" Masterkleer Tubing (5/8" OD)

Rest of Spec:

C2D E6300 @ 3.2GHz
2GB GeiL Low Latency Memory
Gigabyte DS3 Motherboard
8800 GTS 320MB Graphics
200GB Maxtor HDD
Antec P180 Case

the case is w3bbo's old P180 modded with the rad attached to top and window cut into side panel.

My idle temps havent changed but load temps have dropped by 10c

Old Temps: With Titan Amanda TEC Cooler

Idle: 38
Load: 73

New Temps: On Water

Idle: 37
Load: 62

Looks good!

I've got a similar setup, with an apogee and MCW30, but with 2 x 120mm rads instead of the triple. Not that you should really compare temps, but mine are pretty similar to yours, with 3 to 4c lower at idle.

Was the load temp with Orthos or TAT? (Or neither!)

Not bad!

I get higher load temps with TAT than Orthos, but then maybe I'm not using the right stress test on Orthos.

I got a 3c reduction in idle and 5c+ reduction in load temps using some Coollaboratory Pro TIM, which although being a bugger to get off the chip/sink come change time really does seem to work well.

TAT gives more load than orthos as orthos stresses memory aswell as CPU limiting the amount it can stress the CPU
